Greensboro is located in Central North Carolina directly in between the beautiful coastline and the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains. With a population of approximately one quarter million people, Greensboro is the home of six universities, including the new Elon University School of Law. Greensboro recently completed a state of the art minor league baseball stadium surrounded by a revitalized downtown area with restaurants, shops, night life, and the International Civil Rights Museum where the original sit-in was held in 1960. Greensboro is also the home of the Wyndham Championship PGA Golf Tournament held in August at the Sedgefield Country Club. The Greensboro Coliseum which holds over 23,000 spectators is host to many sporting and musical events, including the annual Women’s Atlantic Coast Conference basketball Tournament and the Men’s ACC basketball Tournament on a rotating basis.
Greensboro also has much to offer the family with gorgeous parks, gardens, a 17-acre arboretum, walking trails, The Greensboro Children’s Museum, and the acclaimed Natural Science Center with a live animal zoological park as well as a planetarium. There are several performance venues including the modernized Carolina Theater, the War Memorial Auditorium, and the Triad Stage.
The health care system in Guilford County is top notch with Moses Cone Hospital being the largest employer in the county. The recently completed Federal Express HUB, adjacent to the Piedmont Triad International Airport is helping to establish Greensboro as a major transportation outlet for North Carolina and the region.
